.) My name is Lucy, you might have guessed that though
.) It's been my dream since I was 9 to become a wildlife photographer.
.) I'm currently in my 3rd and final year of a photography degree.
.) I feel like I'm so close to achieving my dream. So close that I can almost touch it.
.) I've just written a dissertation on Wildlife Photography and how its steered by culture, how nowadays we over humanize and anthropomorphise animals. As a result we can lose understanding of an animal's true behavior/ needs, in my photographs, I try not to over humanize the animals.
.) As you might see from my gallery I've experimented a lot with my photography, and used it to express. That's been a vital process for me, but I'm so pleased to be really getting into my Wildlife photography right now.
.) Due to my education I'm kind of limited to the UK at the moment, but that's not going to stop be photographing all kinds of 'exotic' animals, and hopefully I won't be limited to the UK for long.
.) Once I graduate I want to move to Africa and work on a conservation park, that way I can help out, and build up my portfolio at the same time.
.) I don't use Photoshop a whole lot. I try to do as much on the camera as possible. I see 'Wildlife Photography' as documentation, and if you're having to edit the photos loads afterward then it becomes less like documentary. I'm not 'Anti photoshop' though, it's just not my preference for my photographs.
.) I'm currently considering pseudonyms to work under as a wildlife photographer.
